a simple way to transform a pattern you already have

you already have your basic pants block, and that means you're closer to a pair of shorts than you think. in this lesson we'll show you step by step how to shorten the leg, add a yoke, and draft pockets and a zipper fly, so you end up with a pattern that's ready to cut and sew.

let's draft it together

follow each step in order and you'll see your shorts pattern come together piece by piece. take your time, double check your measurements, and remember you can always pause and come back.

your shorts pattern is ready

now it's time to cut your fabric and start sewing. once you have all the pieces, you just need to add seam allowance to each piece before cutting and sewing.
